Project 1: Our site visit
>> For the project, me and my friend Shazliza have done a site visit in 2 places in Kedah which are Tg. Dawai and Kuala Kedah. We chose the area because it has the potential to be developed as a community space because it is located in the focus areas for the recreation community.
Tanjung Dawai, Kedah
- Tanjung Dawai is a coastal village in Kuala Muda District, Kedah. It is located 30 kilometer from Sungai Petani and located on the northern bank of the Sungai Merbok estuary. The place is where fishing boats come in at the end of the day with their catch.
- There is a jetty here belonging to the Malaysian Fisheries Department (Lembaga Kemajuan Ikan Malaysia). Among the sights in Tanjung Dawai includes a Chinese temple, and the Haji Zainuddin Mosque.
Kuala Kedah, Kedah
- Kuala Kedah is a small town in Kedah and it is a fishing port, located at the mouth of the Kedah River. It also serve as a terminal for the ferries to the tourist who want to travel to Langkawi Island.
- Kuala Kedah, located on the coast about 12 km from Alor Setar is a busy fishing village and a paradise for seafood.
